We originally began building TMA trucks to meet the supply and demand of our own contracting operations but have since expanded into building quality, long lasting TMA trucks with your specifications and budget in mind.
TMA Benefits
Crashes that occur in work zones are generally more severe, resulting in more injuries and fatalities than vehicle-to-vehicle crashes. Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMA) are devices designed to protect workers in work zones while reducing the damage to structures, vehicles and motorists resulting from errant motor vehicle collisions. Truck Mounted Attenuators are designed to absorb a colliding vehicle’s kinetic energy through energy absorbing cartridges mounted in a frame.
Site-Safe offers Valtir SS180M truck mounted attenuator. The SS180M is tested to MASH Test Level 3 and is for use on stationary or moving shadow or support vehicles. The unit is comprised of two lightweight aluminum cartridges contained in a potentially reusable steel support frame, and a 180° tilt feature which folds at the center to stack the two cartridge sections on top of each other. This stacking feature does not minimize usable cargo space in the body of the vehicle when in the stored and traveling positions.
TMA Features
Not all shadow and support vehicles equipped with TMA’s are created equally. SHIELD TMA trucks are build by experienced technicians and offer the latest options available in the roadside safety industry.
Cab/Chassis: Choose between a variety of single-axle class 6 medium-duty commercial truck options. Class 6 trucks have a GVWR of 19,501-26,000 pounds and typically do not require a commercial driver license to operate.
Traffic Control Safety Stations: Traffic control safety stations provide a refuge for your employees when deploying and retrieving temporary traffic control devices. Traffic control safety stations handrail height meets OSHA safety requirements for fall protection systems and falling object protection-criteria and practices.
Vehicle Mounted Sign: Choose between bulkhead mounted arrow and message board options with in-cab controls in effort to reduce your employee’s exposure time on foot within the work zone. Solar powered board options are available.
